Event information

Dear GFC stakeholders and other interested parties,

The Global Framework on Chemicals, adopted by the ICCM5 in Bonn, Germany in 2023, provides a vision and 28 Global Targets for a planet free of harm from chemicals and waste, for a safe, healthy and sustainable future. The Inter-Organization Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals (IOMC) is committed to playing a role in supporting the implementation of the GFC and has accepted the invitation in ICCM5 Resolution V/8 to work with stakeholders in developing “Implementation Programmes” (IPs) for consideration by the first International Conference in 2026. Starting in 2024, the IOMC will host a series of webinars in support of GFC implementation.

Following the first “Global Stakeholder Dialogue on GFC Implementation Programmes” (webinar #1, 3 July 2024), this second webinar on 30 September 2024 will seek stakeholder input on the proposals featured in the IOMC discussion note “Development of GFC implementation programmes: national systems, industry engagement, and sustainable development linkages”. The document features general considerations for GFC programme development, as well as suggestions for three programme topics referred to in the GFC: national systems, industry engagement, and sustainable development linkages.

**English, French, and Spanish interpretation available**
