At its first meeting (13 May 2024), the open-ended ad hoc group on measurability and indicators established three workstreams to organize its work. UNEP was invited to take the lead of the task team under workstream 2 for the development of the “high-level indicator on the global environmental burden attributable to chemicals and waste”, with support of OECD and UNECE together with other interested stakeholders.
The first meeting of the task team was held on 19 September 2024 from 13h00 to 14h30, in an online setting.
The main objectives of this meeting were to consider the key steps in developing the high-level indicator on the global environmental burden, as well as our organization of work. A draft concept note laying out the proposed approach to conduct our work was presented to the second meeting of the open-ended ad hoc group (17 August 2024).
